Job Description

• Effective management of existing Funds/Schemes and ability to meet financial targets while complying with regulatory policies and guidelines as well as industry standards
• Efficient liquidity management that will ensure that fund withdrawal requests are met
• Daily accounting for the funds placed under his stewardship.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Effective monitoring and reporting on partners-Custodians, Stockbrokers and Banks.
• Provision of accurate and relevant activity reports to the Board Investment Strategy Committee and Management Investment Committee.
• Effective monitor of stock price movements and company news to identify new investment opportunities or risks.
• Review and analyze corporate releases, valuation of securities, recommend existing holdings and new investments to the Management Investment Committee.
• Recommend portfolio allocation and projected returns across asset classes and across funds.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by Executive Management.

Requirements

• First Degree (minimum of 2nd Class Lower) or its equivalent in a Numerate or Semi-Numerate discipline such as Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Sciences, Banking and Finance, Insurance, Business Studies and/or any other acceptable professional qualification.
• Minimum of 10 years post qualification experience of which at least 8 years must have been in the financial sector with minimum of 4 years in top/senior management position in the investment or portfolio management function. Postgraduate/professional certifications an advantage.

Critical Skills and Abilities Required:

• Ability to conduct and utilize market research and intelligence to identify investment opportunities.
• Must be conversant with global and domestic market dynamics and have capacity to advise on economic outlook, develop strategies on the purchase and sale of investment instruments.
• Excellent leadership, team-working & interpersonal skills.
• Good IT literacy.
• Good team player.
• Excellent leadership qualities.
