Team Purpose

  • The Clinical services Unit (CSU) is the main services delivery unit of the organization and responsible for the delivery of both quantitative and qualitative key program performance targets. 
  • The unit Contributes to health system strengthening through provision of systematic and purposeful knowledge and skill transfer to supported facility’s health workers through a structured and effective engagement.
  • Relevant skills and knowledge are aligned with the organizational and grant’s goal of building people and sustainable systems through learning.
  • This unit  prepare all intended beneficiaries through the adapting of the organizational learning culture with a view to developing self-confidence, creative, system thinking, communications and feedback skills in program implementation. 
  • In collaboration with prevention and priority population unit, the CSU reviews and analyzes sites performance, identify implementation bottle necks and provide structured approaches to improve performance as well as recommends possible solutions to mitigate services disruptions.

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • The incumbent will ensure appropriate support for the implementation of program activities in HIV prevention for key and vulnerable populations, including integration of TB/HIV services for co-infected patients.
  • Supports the design of structural interventions to prevent HIV among key populations, including those that address gender inequalities, stigma and discrimination and the legal rights and status of key populations, and economic barriersProvides mentoring and capacity building at the individual and organizational level for community-based organizations and KP groups.
  • Expands community based HTS, task shifting and demand creation, especially aimed at key and vulnerable populations;
  • Increases knowledge and positive attitudes of patients toward HIV services to expect counseling, testing and referrals for key population, Increases the number of HIV-infected adults with key and vulnerable populations who access CT services.
  • Supervises/supports local NGOs in promoting community participation in HIV prevention for key and vulnerable populations as part of integrated community interventions.
  • Analyzes potential key and vulnerable population HIV prevention strategies within the context of the program and explain these, as necessary, to policymakers, funding agencies, and/or program staff.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Health Sciences, and Nursing required. Master’s in relevant field preferred
  • At least 4 years’ experience training community health workers and/or CBOs in HIV interventions for key and vulnerable populations
  • Experience building capacity at individual and organizational levels
  • Skilled in at least two or more of the following technical areas: strengthening service delivery programs, performance and quality improvement, psychosocial support, monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience in Key Population programming.
