Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Description

  • An accounting tutor educates students on accounting principles, aids in problem-solving, provides guidance on financial analysis, and supports comprehension of complex accounting concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching Accounting Principles: Instructing students on fundamental accounting concepts, theories, and practices.
  • Clarifying Complex Concepts: Helping students understand challenging accounting topics through explanations and examples.
  • Problem-Solving Assistance: Assisting students in solving accounting problems and exercises, offering guidance on calculations and methodologies.
  • Financial Statement Analysis: Guiding students in interpreting and analyzing financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Tutoring and Guidance: Providing personalized tutoring and support to students based on their learning pace and comprehension.
  • Reviewing Assignments and Homework: Reviewing and providing feedback on accounting assignments, homework, and practice problems.
  • Test Preparation: Assisting students in preparing for accounting exams by reviewing materials, conducting practice tests, and explaining key concepts.
  • Application of Accounting Software: Familiarizing students with accounting software applications and aiding in practical usage.
  • Mentoring and Career Advice: Offering advice on career paths within accounting and providing guidance on further study or professional development in the field.
  • Continuous Learning Support: Encouraging students to stay updated with changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry practices.

Education / Experience

  • B.Ed in Accounting and Other Relevant Certification.
  • Firm understanding and practical experience of the Cambridge Curriculum
  • Minimum of Eight Years Experience.

Required Skills:

  • Accounting Knowledge: Proficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, auditing, and other relevant accounting areas.
  • Teaching Ability: Effectively conveying complex accounting concepts in a clear, understandable, and engaging manner suitable for students with varying levels of expertise.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Assisting students in understanding and solving accounting problems, guiding them through calculations and methodologies.
  • Communication Skills: Clearly articulating accounting concepts, providing explanations, and giving feedback in a manner that students can easily grasp.
  • Patience and Empathy: Demonstrating patience while explaining intricate accounting topics and showing empathy towards students' learning difficulties.
  • Adaptability: Adjusting teaching methods to suit different learning styles and pace of students.
  • Critical Thinking: Encouraging students to think critically, analyze financial data, and apply accounting principles to real-world scenarios.
  • Mentoring and Guidance: Providing personalized mentoring, career advice, and guidance to students pursuing accounting as a profession.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software and tools used in the industry to aid in practical learning.
  • Continuous Learning: Staying updated with changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry practices to provide relevant and current information to students.
