HSCL has established offices in Nigeria, Tanzania and Sierra Leone and has also done work in several African countries including Cameroun, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Mauritius, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Uganda, and Zanzibar. We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Communication Specialist

Location: Abuja

Division / Department: Programs
Reporting: Deputy Chief of Party

Job Summary

  • The Communication Specialist will play a crucial role in developing and executing communication strategies to enhance the organization's internal and external communication. H/She will be responsible for crafting clear and compelling messages, utilizing various communication channels, and ensuring consistent and effective communication to promote HSCL's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement communications strategies for HSCL including documentation of events and relationship with the press- print and electronic.
  • Copywriting promotional materials, designing simple graphics and promoting products, research writing, and publications.
  • Manage social media platforms, research media coverage, and assist in growing HSCL's audience.
  • Develop branding materials and guidelines.     
  • Create and distribute newsletters, announcements, and updates to internal teams and external audience.
  • Ensure all communication materials reflect HSCL's brand principles and values.
  • Conduct any other duties that promote positive image and professional capacity/integrity of HSCL.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Proven track experience as a Communication Specialist or in a similar role.   
  • Demonstrated good oral and writing communication and IT skills.
  • Professional certifications in mass communication and related fields, experience with USAID-funded programs and media organizations will be added advantages.
  • Familiarity with the sociocultural and language in Nigeria
  • Skills in photography will be an advantage.
