African Foundries Limited (AFL) was established to support the accelerating growth in Nigeria by making the country self-reliant for steel rebars and eliminating its dependence on imported rebars. AFL is set up to reach a 0.5 million-ton per year capacity for high strength rebars and allied products.

Job Title: Fitter

Location: Ogijo, Ogun

Job Description

  • We are seeking for an experienced fitter to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant equipment.
  • The ideal candidate will possess expertise in maintaining and repairing a wide range of mechanical machinery, including plasma cutting machines, CNC machines, hydraulic presses, shearing machines, press brake bending machines, band saw cutting machines, section straightening machines, gasfired furnaces, gas burners, solenoid valves, hydraulic pumps, gearboxes, air compressors, DG sets, air blowers, cooling towers, centrifugal pumps, oil transfer pumps, hydraulic filter presses, electromagnetic brakes, drilling machines, and tool room machines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on plant and mechanical equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of equipment components, consumables, and accessories.
  • Implement strategies to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Adhere strictly to equipment safety regulations and promote a culture of safety awareness.

Qualifications

  • 35 years of experience as a fitter in a manufacturing industries.
  • Proven track record of successfully maintaining and troubleshooting diverse mechanical equipment.
  • Indepth knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and consumables.
  • Expertise in mechanical problem-solving and repair techniques.
