Overview

• As an Operations Manager in a haulage company with a focus on port operations, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the logistical and operational aspects of transporting goods to and from ports.
• Your responsibilities will include managing a team, coordinating transportation activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and enhancing overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:

• Lead and manage a team of operations staff, including dispatchers, drivers, and support personnel.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure a cohesive and efficient work environment.

Port Operations:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with port authorities, customs officials, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with port regulations, customs procedures, and international trade standards.
• Coordinate the efficient movement of goods through ports, including container handling, documentation, and customs clearance.

Logistics Coordination:

• Oversee the planning and execution of transportation activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other partners to optimize supply chain operations.

Fleet Management

• Manage the company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring proper maintenance, compliance with regulations, and efficient utilization.
• Implement strategies to improve fuel efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance overall fleet performance.

Compliance and Safety:

• Stay informed about industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
• Ensure that the company's operations adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and safety protocols.

Performance Monitoring and Analysis:

• Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and analyze the performance of operations.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Risk Management:

• Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential challenges in port operations, transportation, and logistics.

Customer Relations:

• Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to address customer needs and concerns.
• Strive to enhance customer satisfaction through reliable and efficient service delivery.

Qualifications

• Interested candidates should possess an HND, B.Sc, or M.Sc Degree with at least 5 years experience.
