We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Consultant for the Design of THRIVE's Year-one Learning Event Report

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Contract
Reporting: The consultant will report to the Chief of Party, THRIVE Project with a technical reporting line to the Nigeria Marketing and Communications Coordinator.

Summary of the Assignment

  • The consultant is to provide the visual layout and overall design for the report of the THRIVE Project 2023 learning event.
  • The layout should include infographics to illustrate data and key information from the text of the learning event report. The overall design needs to be consistent with CRS and USAID branding.
  • The design provided by the consultant will contribute to the report’s overall narrative coherence, readability and internal logic and ensure it is visually engaging and accessible for a non-technical readership.

Specific Tasks to Perform

  • Conduct in-brief consultations with key CRS staff, including the THRIVE Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party, MEAL Coordinator, MEAL Manager and Learning Senior Program Officer and the CRS Nigeria Marketing and Communications Coordinator to understand the context, the scope of the assignment and agree expectations on timeline and deliverables;
  • Review the THRIVE year one learning event report and discuss design ideas with the MEAL coordinator, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator and the THRIVE Senior Project Officer for Learning;
  • Share an initial draft of the report design for consolidated feedback from the project focal persons;
  • Incorporate feedback and produce a second revised report draft for further feedback;
  • Produce the final report design submission upon approval of the second draft by the project focal persons;

Deliverables:

  • Soft copies of the designed report (one editable file and in PDF).

Competencies and Selection
Requirements:

  • Demonstrated evidence of prior experience in creating graphics for international humanitarian organizations. (25 points)
  • Proven expertise in graphic design and proficiency in relevant graphic design software. (15 points)
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following software applications: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Flash, Flex Builder, and the complete Adobe Creative Suite. (15 points)
  • Advanced knowledge in the conceptualization and development of various graphic design assets, including infographics/photographs (for both print and digital mediums), data visualization, and animation. (15 points)
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation to consistently produce high-quality design products. (30 points)
  • Ability to adapt designs efficiently based on feedback.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Reporting:

  • The consultant will report to the Chief of Party, THRIVE Project with a technical reporting line to the Nigeria Marketing and Communications Coordinator.
