Job Title: Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Assurance Officer

Job Description

  • Perform core Reconciliation and Proofing of allocated Bank Accounts for Nigeria; both Balance Sheet and Off-Balance Sheet Accounts identified to require Proofing and Reconciliation.
  • Ensure that all allocated Accounts have Reviewers and Owners.
  • Follow up with Account Reviewers and Owners to drive closure of identified open items.
  • Work with Supervisor to build a robust and reliable Proofing & Reconciliation capability for Nigeria.
  • Primary resource for taskforce activities leading to the identification of over aged items and items at risk in the affiliate. 
  • Training and project resource for Reconciliation and Proofing projects
  • Maintain Issues Register for breach of compliance to standard narrations and escalate to reviewers and owners for corrections
  • Ensure that all reconciled transactions contain key references and narrations that provide quality information for independent verification to source.
  • Onboard allocated Internal Accounts to Automated Reconciliation Systems adopted by the group
  • Ensure accuracy of balances of proofs to the ledger and substantiation thereof
  • Continuously implementing best in quality management of the Group’s Proofing and Reconciliations of Accounts in business units. 
  • Ensure timely conduct and Submission of proofs and reconciliation reports to Account Reviewers and Account Owners country wide.
  • Ensure timely escalation of identified events that could lead to material loss to ensure timely mitigation of exposures and execute assurance. 
  • Deploy frameworks and key risk indicators for identification, assessment, measurement reporting, monitoring, and mitigating both emerging and existing exposures.
  • Drive the automation of Reconciliation and Proofing processes for the affiliate.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess Bachelor's Degrees with relevant work experience.
