We invite applications for the internationally recruited position of:

Job Title: Research Assistant

Ref No: IITA-HR-NRS2015/027
Location: Osun

Background and Responsibilities
  • Assist in experimenting , planning, setting up and implementation on the field and tissue culture laboratory;
  • Engage in tissue culture medium preparation, sub-culturing, washing containers e.t.c.;
  • Collect plan data from breeding crossing blocks fields established for tissue culture experiments;
  • Assist in harvesting yam tubers and seed from the field the field experiments after applying tissue culture technique;
  • Collect samples from yam field (flowers, anthers, ovaries and florescence) and carry out analysis on them in the lab;
  • Organize laboratory work for tissue culture experiments and trials;
  • Perform any other function as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualification and Experience
  • B.Sc. in Agriculture, Botany, Plant Science, Microbiology or related field with minimum of two (2) years’ experience on plant tissue culture and related field.
