Job Overview

  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Coordinator to spearhead our new Oil Zapping Project. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in environmental management, particularly in the field of oil spill cleanup and remediation.
  • Oil Zapping is a bio-remediation technique involving the use of 'oil zapping' bacteria. Oilzapper feeds on hydrocarbon compounds present in crude oil and the hazardous hydrocarbon waste generated by oil refineries. It converts oil sludges into harmless CO2 and water. Oilzapper is used to get rid of oil from a surface. Oil Zapping is a bio-remediation technique involving the use of 'oil zapping' bacteria.
  • The Project Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and overseeing innovative technologies and methods to effectively contain, break down, or remove oil pollutants from aquatic environments.

Responsibilities
Oil Spill Response:

  • Lead and coordinate rapid response efforts in the event of oil spills.
  • Deploy and manage oil zapping technologies and methodologies for efficient cleanup.

Technology Implementation:

  • Evaluate and select appropriate oil zapping technologies based on the nature and extent of the oil spill.
  • Stay current with advancements in oil spill cleanup technologies and recommend updates or improvements.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Conduct regular assessments of oil-contaminated areas and track the effectiveness of oil zapping efforts.
  • Prepare detailed reports on cleanup progress, environmental impact, and future recommendations.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, government agencies, and environmental organizations to ensure effective oil spill response and adherence to regulations.

Training and Awareness:

  • Develop training programs for personnel involved in oil spill response.
  • Raise awareness about best practices in oil spill cleanup and prevention.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree is an added advantage.
  • Must have at least 5 years experience
  • Proven experience in oil spill response and environmental remediation.
  • In-depth knowledge of oil zapping technologies and their applications.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead teams in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration and reporting.
