Job Title: Senior Petroleum Engineer

Location: Nigeria

Description

  • Candidate for this position must have good knowledge of technical practices and principles within reservoir engineering including but not limited to reservoir performance analysis, optimization of fields and production, development planning, economic evaluation and reserves evaluation. The candidates must have in-depth knowledge of modelling, optimization of well inflow and outflow performances, conceptual well and completion design of well reservoir interface and well integrity management.

Key Accountabilities

  • Identify and generate opportunities to optimize producing assets, improve recovery, increase production rate and reserve additions.
  • Discovering new petroleum reservoirs and develop cost-efficient, effective methods of petroleum recovery.
  • Develop reservoir performance predictions. Prepare estimates of in-place hydrocarbon volume from different reservoir engineering principles.
  • Ensure reservoir and production due diligence on potential farm-ins and acquisitions.
  • Test all petroleum-related equipment and machinery to assure safety and security.
  • Monitor and evaluate reserve performance as well as preparing well performance reports and maps.
  • Develop strategies and methods to recover oil and gas from fields.
  • Ensuring team members follow the standard environmental and safety regulations of the Company.
  • Must be result-oriented and committed to company goals.

Qualifications and Required Competencies:

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in Petroleum Engineering or any Engineering degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper division. A master's degree or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of Petroleum Engineering experience with in-depth understanding of geologic formation and rock types making up the reservoirs, well engineering, and rig operations.
  • Must have experience in field development planning and well/project economic evaluation.
  • Competency in the use of reservoir engineering software (e.g., Eclipse, MBAL, etc.) and Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Must be a good team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work under pressure, ready to travel at short notice, and be willing to relocate if necessary.

Additional Requirement:

  • Proficiency in IT, at least basic office software is compulsory
