College Bursar at the Enugu State College of Education (Technical)

The Enugu State College of Education (Technical) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position below:

Job Title: College Bursar

Location: Enugu

The Position

• The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the College, and he is responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the College.

Duties

• The candidate for the position is expected to plan, organize, direct and coordinate the operations of the financial system of the College.
• The Bursar while advising the Provost must always remind him/her that in order to ensure transparency, traceability, and accountability in the College finance the Provost must not author and appropriate at the same time as it helps to maintain check and balance in the system.

Qualifications and Experience
Candidate for the post of Bursar must fulfill the following requirements:

• The applicant must be at least 35 years of age and must be able to serve one full term of 4 years before/on attaining the retirement age of 65 years.
• A good Honours Degree (minimum Second-Class Lower Division) or HND (Credit Level) in Accountancy or Finance from a recognized institution of higher learning.
• The applicant must possess any of the following professional recognized accountancy qualification, e.q. ACA/FCA, CNA/FCNA.
• A candidate must have held the minimum position of a Deputy Bursar/Deputy Director in an MDA/Industry with at least five (5) years cognate experience.
• Evidence of attendance of continuous mandatory professional development is required.
• Evidence of ICT competence and proficiency in digital accounting.

Vision / Mission Statement

• All candidates must submit a clear two-page statement of four-year vision and mission for the Enugu State College of Education (Technical) with reference to their office of interest.

Conditions of Service

• Candidates will be entitled to the privileges and benefits specified in the terms and conditions of Service for staff of Enugu State College of Education (Technical), Enugu, and according to other conditions which may be approved from time to time by the Governing Council of the College, and/or the Honorable Commissioner for Education in consultation with the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE).

Tenure

• The appointment of the candidate is for an initial period of four (4) years in the first instance. Candidates may be eligible for reappointment for a second term of four (4) years subject to institutional evaluation of satisfactory performance.
