KNCV is an international center of expertise for TB control that promotes effective, efficient, innovative and sustainable TB control strategies in a national and international context.  We are an organization of passionate TB professionals, including doctors, researchers, training experts, nurses and epidemiologists. We aim to stop the spread of the worldwide epidemic of TB and to prevent the further spread of drug-resistant TB.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Account Associate

Location: Abuja

Purpose of Job

  • To keep accurate, complete, and up-to-date office records for KNCV, as well as to provide general support to the senior accountant officer at the central office in Abuja and to provide support for all procurement activities for the TB-Lon 1 and 2 project.

Job Description

  • Checks and assigns codes to all financial documents.
  • Enters all financial documents into the accounting system.
  • Prepare and process payments in the banking system.
  • Monitor all advance accounts and report outstanding balances to the senior accountant officer.
  • Ensure that all project-incurred expenses are timely paid, documented, and filed.
  • Assist in the annual audit process and related activities.
  • Maintains an inventory list of all KNCV TB-Lon Project assets.
  • Oversee the procurement process.
  • Maintains the petty cash accounts.
  • Organize domestic flights and travel arrangements for the project staff and other resources.
  • Provide office assistance by organizing and documenting the minutes of meetings.
  • Engages in financial and related tasks as required by the senior finance and account officer.
  • Ensure compliance with KNCV financial management and accounting policies and regulations.
  • Monitor adherence to USAID donor guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to all major financial rules and regulations that are described in the KNCV HR and Finance policies.
  • Perform other additional duties as assigned by the supervisor in relation to project implementation and the daily management of the organization.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or any other relevant degree
  • Working Knowledge of program management Especially USAID
  • Demonstrable experience with accounting and financial reporting.
  • Experience and knowledge of Nigerian tax laws.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
  • Experience with accounting software packages.
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as the MS Office package.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team.
  • Integrity and transparency are essential for this position.
  • Capable of working well under pressure.
