Job Title: Financial Accountant

Location: CHEVRON, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The Financial Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with the accounting team, as well as with other departments within the organization to ensure the financial processes run efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and process financial transactions, ensuring that records are accurate, complete and up-to-date
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports on a regular basis, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Monitor financial transactions to ensure that they comply with financial policies and regulations
  • Prepare and submit tax returns, ensuring that all tax payments are accurate and are submitted before deadlines
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, providing financial analysis and insights to support decision-making
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all financial data is accurate and up-to-date, and to identify opportunities to streamline financial processes
  • Ensure that financial information is kept confidential and secure, and that all financial systems are maintained and updated regularly

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial accounting or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
