Specific Duties & Responsibilities
The consultant will be expected to achieve the following objectives:
- Develop a detailed concept note outlining baseline activities and tools to be used in the implementation of the landscape Analysis.
- Conduct a landscape analysis to understand the current state of antenatal and postnatal care services in Lagos State.
- Analyse health facility assessment data to assess readiness and capacity for implementing group ANC/PNC services.
- Evaluate competency data for healthcare workers to identify training needs and gaps in delivering group ANC/PNC.
Scope of Work
The consultant will undertake the following tasks:
Landscape Analysis:
- Identify and map key stakeholders involved in antenatal and postnatal care services in Lagos State.
- Review existing policies, guidelines, and regulations related to ANC and PNC in Lagos State.
- Assess health facilities to understand infrastructure, staffing, and current practices in ANC and PNC.
Concept Note Development:
- Develop a concept note outlining the baseline activities, methodologies, and tools to be used in the project.
- Propose a timeline for the implementation of baseline activities.
- Provide a clear strategy for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Health Facility Assessment Data Analysis:
- Analyse health facility assessment data to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT analysis).
- Assess the readiness and capacity of health facilities to implement group ANC/PNC services.
- Provide recommendations for improvement based on the analysis.
Competency Data Analysis for Healthcare Workers:
- Evaluate competency data for healthcare workers involved in ANC/PNC services.
- Identify training needs and gaps in competencies related to group ANC/PNC.
- Propose strategies for capacity-building interventions.
Deliverables
The consultant will be expected to deliver the following:
- Comprehensive landscape analysis report.
- Detailed concept note for baseline activities.
- Analysis report on health facility assessment data.
- Analysis report on competency data for healthcare workers.
- Presentation of findings and recommendations to GANC TEAM project stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
The consultant should possess the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in conducting health system assessments and landscape analyses.
- Strong knowledge of maternal and child health programs, particularly ANC and PNC.
- Demonstrated experience in developing concept notes and analysing health facility data.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
