Job Title: Journalist

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Description

• This is a full-time, hybrid role located in Lagos, with flexibility for some remote work.
• As a Journalist for Startup Lagos, you will be responsible for researching, writing, and producing thought-provoking news articles related to the African tech space.
• You will also be required to attend events, conduct interviews, and tech products, and build strong relationships within the African tech community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in journalism, preferably focused on technology or startups
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to write and produce content quickly and accurately, with tight deadlines
• Demonstrated knowledge of the African tech ecosystem and major players within it
• Experience with multimedia journalism, such as podcasts or videos, is a plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in English is required.
• The right attitude is a necessary skill.
