Job Description

• Our client in the hospitality industry seeks to employ the expertise of a creative, high performing, passionate person with wealth of experience in the culinary department to fill in the role of a Chef / Cook in a hotel situated in Port Harcourt.

He or she Should:

• Supervise waiters/waitresses when needed
• Monitors food stocks and place orders timely
• Check freshness of food and discard out-of-data items
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
• Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchens scales
• Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients
• Cook food in a timely manner
• Ensure appealing plate presentation
• Slightly modify recipes to meet customers needs and requests
• Supervise waiters/ waitresses and assist where needed.

Criteria / Requirements

• Candidates should possess relevant qualifications
• Proven 2 - 3 years Work experience as a chef or cook
• Good knowledge of Nigerian/intercontinental dishes, baking, and pastry techniques (Certification from training institute will be an advantage)
• Leadership ability
• Up-to-date Knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
• Familiarity with sanitation regulations
• Excellent in Verbal and Written communication skills
• Efficient Bookkeeping
• Strong Business acumen and Leadership Skills
• Attention to detail and interpersonal relationship skills.
• Age Range: 23 years & Above.

Salary
N50,000 - N80,000 Monthly.
