Job Title: Programmes Manager

Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Summary

  • We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Programmes Manager.
  • This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful change and make a positive impact in the governance and climate change thematic areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grants Writing: Lead the development and submission of grant proposals to secure funding for our projects and initiatives. Collaborate with team members to gather necessary information and ensure compliance with grant guidelines.
  • Programmes Development: Work closely with stakeholders to design, implement, and manage innovative programmes and projects in alignment with our mission and strategic goals. Monitor and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of existing programmes.
  • Advocacy: Develop and execute advocacy strategies to influence policy and decision-makers in the fields of governance and climate change. Engage with government agencies, international organizations, and other stakeholders to promote our organization's agenda.
  • Organizing High-Level Events: Plan and coordinate high-profile events, seminars, and conferences related to governance and climate change. Manage logistics, invite key speakers, and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Team Training and Coordination: Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth. Coordinate and collaborate with various teams within the organization to ensure effective program implementation.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the financial aspects of programmes, including budget preparation, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting. Ensure efficient resource allocation and compliance with funding requirements.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Develop and implement a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to track programme outcomes and impact. Prepare regular reports for donors, stakeholders, and the Board of Directors.
  • Networking: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with governmental agencies, donors, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance the organization's profile and leverage resources.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree with Second Class Upper Division or First Class in Political Science or any Social Science field. Master's Degree with research grade is preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in programme management and development.
  • Strong grant writing and fundraising skills.
  • Proven experience in advocacy and policy engagement.
  • Excellent project management and team leadership skills.
  • Financial acumen and budget management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Passion for governance and climate change issues.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse team.
  • Working knowledge of French Language is an added advantage.
