Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Location: Abuja

Job Summary

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications.
  • Measure and package medications according to prescription orders.
  • Receive and interpret prescription orders from patients or healthcare providers.
  • Enter prescription information into the pharmacy computer system accurately.
  • Monitor and manage pharmacy inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Receive, check, and stock incoming pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Answer phone calls, address customer inquiries, and provide information on medications.
  • Verify insurance information and process claims for prescription medications.
  • Work with insurance providers to resolve any billing issues.
  • Prepare compounded medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Adhere to established guidelines for compounding procedures.
  • Perform routine quality control checks on dispensed medications.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervising pharmacist.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to pharmacy operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assist in training new pharmacy staff members.
  • Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment, such as automated dispensing systems.
  • Utilize computer systems for prescription processing and record-keeping.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess relevant qualifications with 5 - 6 years relevant work experience.
