Job Title: Operation Lead

Description

  • A plastics manufacturing company in Lagos is looking to recruit an Operations lead who will be responsible for all the Operational activities from sorting and categorization of raw materials for recycling at the site to ensuring that they are properly delivered to the plant.
  • You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and minimizing environmental impact.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations including waste intake, sorting, and placement.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols for personnel and equipment operating on the dumpsite.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the dumpsite to identify and address potential environmental hazards (e.g., erosion, leachate leaks).
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of operations, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of waste types, quantities, and disposal methods.
  • Prepare reports on dumpsite activities and environmental compliance.
  • Liaise with external contractors for waste disposal and recycling services and minimize environmental impact.
  • Implement and maintain proper drainage and erosion control measures.
  • Stay informed about current environmental regulations and best practices in environmental management.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge and skills in waste management and environmental compliance.
  • Maintenance of the grinding machines and generators.
  • Keep records of all suppliers and maintain a good relationship with them.
  • Oversee the facility and everything therein.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in waste management or a related field, preferably in a landfill or dumpsite environment.
  • Proven ability to work safely and effectively in a potentially hazardous environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices for environment management is a strong plus.
