Job Title: Welder

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Welding and Fabrication:

  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required, including but not limited to stick welding, MIG welding, TIG welding, and oxy-acetylene cutting.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand project requirements.

On-Call Availability:

  • Be available for call-out assignments on short notice, including evenings and weekends.
  • Respond promptly to urgent welding needs and provide timely and efficient solutions.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures at all times.

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure its proper functioning.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or defects to the supervisor promptly.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure the quality of welded components by conducting inspections and addressing any defects or issues.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.

Communication:

  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and clients to understand project requirements and expectations.
  • Provide clear and concise updates on the progress of welding assignments.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Welder with expertise in various welding techniques.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to welding.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Flexibility to work on-call and respond to urgent welding needs.
  • Certification in welding techniques is preferred.
