Job Title: Fibre Optics Technician

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Description 

• We are looking for a Fibre Optic Technician capable of conducting fiber optic detailed network design for middle-mile and last-mile fiber-based networks or fiber-to-home projects.
• He will be responsible for installing and maintaining fiber optic cables, as well as providing technical assistance in the designing and testing of fiber optics.
• He would also be required to offer technical assistance in drawing production work such as analysis, fiber optic network design, topology layout, fiber splice plans, cable duct and routing, and calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.

Job Responsibilities

• Resolving, repairing, and installing fiber optics systems, ensuring that they work properly.
• Maintaining and ensuring full compliance with all direct boardband and mobile processes and procedures relating to fibre optic engineering and network architecture.
• Examining and replacing faulty and/or old fiber optic cables.
• Organizing scheduled maintenance routines and taking care of fiber splicing and rectify fiber optic problem areas.
• Developing sensor indicators and conduct timely inspections, so that a faulty fiber optic system does not destabilize its performance.
• Executing premises cabling and take care of the underground and underwater cabling requirements.
• Keeping track of the signal strength of different devices including television, telephone, and high-speed internet.
• Working closely with customer service provider, vendors, and partners to resolve customer complaints and deliver high quality and reliable network performance.
• Formulating and maintaining system records and system designs.

Required skills and qualifications

• BSc or HND in Electrical Engineering or related fields
• 1 - 5 years work experience.
• Proven experience working as a fibre optic technician or related roles.
• Strong active listening and verbal communication skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving and logical thinking skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
• In-depth knowledge of industry and technology trend
• The candidate will be required to work on Saturdays with an overtime pay of 5,000 Naira

Salary
N150,000 monthly.
