The
Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is a regional group of fifteen West African countries. Founded on 28 May 1975, with the signing of the Treaty of Lagos, its mission is to promote economic integration across the region. Considered one of the pillars of the African Economic Community, the organization was founded in order to achieve collective self-sufficiency for its member states by creating a single large trading bloc through an economic and trading union. It also serves as a peacekeeping force in the region. The organization operates officially in three co-equal languages French, English, and Portuguese.

Job Title: Revisor English to Portuguese (Court of Justice)

Duties and Responsibilities
- Reports directly to the Director of Administration and Finance ;
- Supervises and co-ordinates the work of Portuguese translators and revises all translations from English into Portuguese;
- Will also translate other Court documents from English into Portuguese.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills
- A degree in translation or a bachelor's degree plus a certificate in translation from English into Portuguese with a minimum of six (6) years post qualification experience, or eight (8) years of confirmed experience in translation in an international organization in lieu of certificate in translation;
- Must be computer literate;
- A degree in Law will be an advantage.
Age:
- Candidates must not be over fifty (50) years of age at the point of recruitment and must be citizens of ECOWAS.
Language:
- Excellent command of two required official languages of the Community for this position: English and Portuguese.
- A working knowledge of the third (French) would be an advantage.
Remuneration
USD 52,273 - USD 59,100(Annual Salary)
