The
Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is a regional group of fifteen West African countries. Founded on 28 May 1975, with the signing of the Treaty of Lagos, its mission is to promote economic integration across the region. Considered one of the pillars of the African Economic Community, the organization was founded in order to achieve collective self-sufficiency for its member states by creating a single large trading bloc through an economic and trading union. It also serves as a peacekeeping force in the region. The organization operates officially in three co-equal languages French, English, and Portuguese.
We are currently recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Senior Research Officer, Portuguese (Court of Justice)

Supervisor: Director, Research, Communication and Documentation

Duties and Responsibilities
- Work under the direct supervision of the Director of Research , Documentation and Communication;
- Collect and analyse legal data;
- Carry out any other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Research, Documentation and Communication.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills
- A Bachelor's degree in Law and a minimum of seven (7) years of post -qualification experience in legal research in international Law or Community law;
- A higher qualification will reduce the required number of years of experience by two (2) years.
Age:
- The candidate must not over 50 years at recruitment and must be a citizen of one of the Member States of ECOWAS.
Language:
- Total mastery of both oral and written Portuguese shall be indispensable;
- Knowledge of another official language of the Community (French or English) would be an advantage.
Remuneration
USD 44,328 - USD 51,637(Annual Salary).
