We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Communications and Media Officer

Location: Lagos

Job Purpose

  • This role plays a key part in shaping the Group's image and engaging our stakeholders.
  • You will develop and implement impactful communications strategies, craft clear messaging, and manage various channels to amplify the organization's voice.

Roles and Responsibilities
Corporate Communication:

  • Collaborate on developing and implementing a comprehensive communication strategy aligned with the organization's goals.
  • Craft engaging and consistent messaging that reflects the organization's brand and values, ensuring a unified voice across all channels.
  • Contribute to and oversee the creation of internal communication materials like newsletters, intranet content, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication campaigns using data-driven insights to inform future strategies.
  • Stay up to date on communication trends and best practices, proposing innovative solutions to improve communication effectiveness.

Media:

  • Prepare and distribute press releases for major announcements and events, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with media contacts, fostering open communication and securing media coverage.
  • Monitor media coverage of the organization and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
  • Assist with organizing press conferences and media interviews, coordinating logistics and handling inquiries.
  • Create compelling content for social media and other media channels, engaging audiences and promoting the organization's message.
  • Support the development and execution of media relations strategies, including proactive outreach and crisis communication preparation.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications, International Relations, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in a communications or media relations role.
