Job Description
Customer Service:
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service at the checkout counter.
- Greet customers, answer inquiries, and assist with any concerns.
Cash Handling:
- Accurately and efficiently handle cash transactions, including giving change.
- Operate cash registers and other equipment in adherence to company policies.
Product Scanning:
- Scan and accurately record prices for merchandise using a barcode scanner.
- Ensure that all products are correctly entered into the system.
Bagging:
- Bag items properly to prevent damage and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Offer assistance to customers with packing and carrying items, if needed.
Transaction Processing:
- Process various forms of payments, including cash, credit cards, and digital transactions.
- Verify the authenticity of coupons and discount vouchers.
Maintaining Cleanliness:
- Keep the checkout area clean and organized.
- Monitor and address spillages or other hazards promptly.
Price Verification:
- Assist in resolving pricing discrepancies or errors.
- Notify the supervisor or manager of any pricing issues.
Stocking and Replenishing:
- Assist in stocking shelves and replenishing merchandise as needed.
- Monitor product levels and inform the supervisor of low stock situations.
Cash Register Reconciliation:
- Reconcile cash drawer at the end of each shift.
- Report any discrepancies or shortages to the appropriate personnel.
Compliance with Policies:
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Follow security measures to prevent theft and ensure a safe shopping environment.
Qualifications
- Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong numerical and communication skills.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
Skills:
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
