We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Well Integrity Engineer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintains COMPANY’s well status register ensuring records are up to date.
  • Analyse and understand the well integrity status of all wells within the D&W and FO perimeters.
  • Follow up the integrity status of all wells within the D&W perimeter.
  • Perform risk assessment for the Non-compliant and Major defect wells within the D&W
  • perimeter.
  • Responsible for preparation and population of any required well integrity risk assessment and / or derogation; and discussing same in a timely manner with the Senior Well Integrity Engineer and Well Integrity Focal Point.
  • Liaise with FO WILE (or counterpart) on the integrity status of Wells-At-Risk within the FO perimeter.
  • Provide technical support to FO or other entities as required, if a well integrity issue is identified during the operating phase.
  • Responsible for the hand computation of Maximum Allowable Annulus Surface Pressure for well-stock during the operational and suspension phases. Liaises with Senior Well Integrity Engineer and / or Well Integrity Focal Point if WellCAT Modelling is required.
  • Responsible for preparing, reviewing- with Senior Well Integrity Engineer or Well Integrity Focal Point and communicating all Annulus Operating Limits during well handover and during the operational phase.
  • Participate in periodic well annulus pressure trend reviews with the FO WILE (or counterpart).
  • Participate and present during periodic Well Integrity related meetings: Wells At Risk, Well Integrity Surveillance Committee, Technical Integrity Review Team, etc.
  • Actively participate in technical risk assessments of wells with anomalies.
  • Recommend controls and processes to safeguard the technical integrity of COMPANY well-stock, economic interests and reputation of COMPANY assets.
  • Review proposed Well Intervention Request (WIR) with Well Intervention Engineers and FO’s WILE to ensure that all integrity related remedial activities are appropriate to address identified well integrity non-conformances.
  • Prepare and drive the well integrity investigation, well integrity remediation and well inspection programs for all well-stock (D&W and FO perimeters).
  • Follow up with Well Intervention Team and Planning Engineer to ensure prompt scheduling and execution of well integrity related corrective/preventative maintenance.
  • Effectively communicate identified well integrity non-conformances or potential threats when reaching intolerable level and appropriate escalation of risk.
  • Identify and communicate gaps or improvement opportunities in relation to Well Integrity management standards, procedures and assurance activities.
  • Promote awareness and provide support, knowledge and assistance (in relation to Well Integrity management process and relevant standards) to both D&W and FO teams.
  • Participate in Well Statement of Requirement, HAZID / risk assessments, BOD design reviews, etc (to highlight well integrity concerns/lessons learnt) in the well construction phase.
  • Deputize and provide technical support to the Senior Well Integrity Engineer.
  • Prepare Well Architecture Drawings and Well Barrier Schematics.
  • Promote best practices in well integrity and develop positive relationships with the site teams; enhanced with regular site visits to demonstrate commitment and shared ownership.
  • Involved in the preparation / review of well intervention and wellhead maintenance programs.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills Required

  • Minimum of an HND or BSc / B.Eng. in Engineering or Sciences
  • Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience in Oil & Gas Industry or MSc. Degree in oil and gas related field + Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in Oil & Gas Industry: Drilling, Completion, Intervention, Well Integrity or Well Services Engineering.
  • Previous operational experience in Drilling/Completion/Intervention. Knowledge of Well Design, Well Construction, Production and Reservoir Engineering.
  • Conversant with parameters and mechanisms that affect well integrity (from reservoir to surface production).
  • Basic knowledge of well equipment, well components, drilling and completion techniques.
  • Fast learner with excellent analytical, reporting and communication skills.
