We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Health Information Management (HIM) Officer

Location: Warri, Delta
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Category: Senior Level.

Job Responsibilities
As a Health Information Management Officer, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Oversee the organization and maintenance of electronic and paper health records.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of patient information.
  • Assign appropriate codes to diagnoses and procedures in compliance with coding guidelines.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure coding accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze health information data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Generate regular reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, administrators, and other staff to ensure seamless information flow and efficient record-keeping processes.
  • Provide training and support to staff on health information management best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or related field.
  • Certified Health Information Management Professional.
  • Proven experience in health information management, medical coding, and record-keeping.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in the use of health information systems and electronic health records.
  • Proven customer support experience or experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

Remuneration
Salary in line with industry standard.
