Head of Internal Audit at ASA International

ASA International is one of the world's largest international microfinance institutions providing socially responsible loans to low income entrepreneurs across Asia and Africa.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head of Internal Audit

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Duties & Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate the audit practices in the bank.
• Ensure that the present audit practice in the company is in line with the international audit standard.
• To independently carry out the evaluation and examination of the effectiveness and efficiency of the internal control and risk management systems.
• Promote and support a culture of compliance, risk avoidance/mitigation and corporate accountability in the bank.
• To carry out periodic review of the compliance activities within the organization in line with global office requirements and local regulations.
• Supervision of the field auditors’ assignments, as well as vetting of all fields reports.

Requirements
Preferred candidate must have:

• A Bachelor's Degree with minimum of second-class lower division (2:2) in Finance or related field
• At least 5 years of Internal Audit experience with independent mindset
• Minimum 2 years of audit team leading (asHeadof Audit) experience along with workpaper preparation, audit report writing, presentation skillsandsound interpersonal skills in an audit firm, microfinance, or commercial bank.
• Professional qualifications – ACA, ACCA, CIA.
• 2-3 years of relevant industry experience & conversant with Audit Software, data analytics tool (e.g., Python, R programming) is preferred.
