Job Title: Graphic Artist / CNC Machine Technician

Location: Lagos Mainland, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview

  • The Graphics and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machine Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting graphics equipment and CNC machines to produce high-quality graphics and precision-cut materials.
  • This role involves working with various design software, operating CNC machines, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of finished products.

Key Responsibilities
Graphics Production:

  • Operate and maintain graphics production equipment such as printers, plotters, laminators, and cutters.
  • Prepare digital files for printing, including formatting, color correction, and image manipulation.
  • Monitor print quality and perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to printing and graphics production processes.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to cut, carve, and shape materials according to design specifications.
  • Monitor machine performance, make necessary adjustments, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with design teams to understand project requirements and translate designs into machine readable instructions.
  • Prepare materials for processing, including cutting, sanding, and smoothing as needed.
  • Conduct quality checks on materials to ensure they meet specifications and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Perform routine maintenance on graphics equipment and CNC machines to ensure smooth operation.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or software-related problems.
  • Coordinate with external vendors or technicians for complex repairs or servicing when necessary.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct quality control checks on finished products to verify accuracy and adherence to specifications.
  • Document and report any quality issues or deviations, and suggest process improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • OND, HND or equivalent in Graphics or Fine Arts, additional technical certifications or relevant vocational training is a plus.
  • 4 - 6 years relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience operating graphics production equipment such as printers, plotters, and cutters.
  • Familiarity with design software and file formats (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, CorelDRAW).
  • Experienced with Routers, laser Cutters and plasma Cutters.
  • Proficiency in CNC machine operation, including setup, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of different materials used in graphics production and CNC machining.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Attention to detail, precision, and ability to work with tight tolerances.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environme
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to maintain a safe working environment.
