Job Title: Painter

Location: Benin, Edo

Job Summary

  • The Painter is responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to surfaces within residential, commercial, or industrial settings. This role involves preparing surfaces, selecting appropriate materials, and ensuring the quality and durability of the painted finish.
  • The Painter must have a keen eye for detail, knowledge of various painting techniques, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and smoothing to ensure proper adherence of paint.
  • Select and mix paints, coatings, or finishes according to established formulas or customer specifications.
  • Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  • Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape to protect surrounding areas during painting.
  • Ensure proper ventilation and safety measures are followed when working with paints and chemicals.
  • Repair and patch surfaces as needed, filling cracks and holes before applying finishes.
  • Coordinate with other construction or maintenance professionals to ensure timely project completion.
  • Maintain and clean painting tools and equipment after use.
  • Evaluate the quality of finished work and make any necessary touch-ups or corrections.
  • Follow established safety guidelines and regulations at all times.

Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess a HND, SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification.
  • Proven experience as a Painter in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
  • Knowledge of various painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Must have at least 1-3 years’ experience as a painter.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Physical stamina and agility to work in various positions and environments.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Time management skills to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Certification or training in painting techniques is a plus.
