Job Title: Head of Maintenance
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Description
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the Maintenance department, including but not limited to: budgeting, scheduling, training, and employee development.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in a safe, efficient, and effective manner
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the work of subordinates, ensuring that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of subordinates, taking corrective action as necessary
- Investigate complaints and incidents, taking appropriate action to resolve issues
- Prepare and submit reports to upper management as required.
- Stay abreast of new developments in the field of maintenance and make recommendations for improvements to management
- Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
- Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- HVAC certification
- Proven experience as a maintenance manager or similar role
- Experience in planning maintenance operations
- Hands onknowledge of facilities machines and equipment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage artisan and laborers
- Leadership and team-building skills
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
