Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi was established in 1973 as a first generation and well-established Federal Polytechnic with the function of providing technology-based education, training and development of skills. It has three campuses all located along the Benin-Auchi-Okene highway.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Director of Works & Maintenance Services

Location: Auchi, Edo
Employment Type: Full-time

Duties

• The Director, Works and Maintenance Services shall be responsible to the Rector for the day to day running of the Department and exercise leadership control of the department;
• Formulate divisional strategies to achieve institutional goals in terms of infrastructures and maintain existing ones;
• Plan and control the technical activities of the Works and Maintenance Services Department;
• Advise the Rector on the acquisition, operations and maintenance of Polytechnic assets as the case may be;
• Prepare the Department's budget and exercise budgetary control;
• Keep an inventory of all valuables, ensure their maintenance, security and upkeep; and
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Rector.

Qualifications / Experience

• Candidate must be holder of at least a good B.Sc (Hons) or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of twenty-one (21) years post-qualification cognate experience or a Master's Degree plus eighteen (18) years post- qualification experience or a Doctorate Degree plus fifteen (15) years post- qualification cognate experience;
• Have membership of and registration with the relevant professional bodies and association;
• Have a good knowledge of computer applications;
• Must not be more than fifty-nine (59) years of age as at date the post will become vacant; and
• Be physically and mentally fit (with evidence from a Government hospital).

Terms of Appointment and Conditions of Service

• The Salary is CONTEDISS 15
• Other terms and conditions of appointment are as provided by the conditions of service of the Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria and as may be determined from time to time by the Federal Government of Nigeria or the Governing Council of the Polytechnic.
