Director of Physical Planning at Auchi Polytechnic

Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi was established in 1973 as a first generation and well-established Federal Polytechnic with the function of providing technology-based education, training and development of skills. It has three campuses all located along the Benin-Auchi-Okene highway.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Director of Physical Planning

Location: Auchi, Edo
Employment Type: Full-time

Duties

• The Director, Physical Planning Department shall be responsible to the Rector for the day to day running of the Department and exercise leadership control of the department.
• Formulate and execute policies and programmes on relevant matters including master and policy plans relating to infrastructural development of the entire Polytechnic;
• Be responsible to the Rector for placing and controlling the technical activities of the physical planning of the Polytechnic and ensuring that physical developments are in line with approved policies and plans of the Polytechnic;
• Advise on building needs, designs and construction of the physical (building) assets in terms of quality and quantity, as well as spatial considerations;
• Prepare the department's budget and exercise budgetary control;
• Supervise intervention projects in conjunction with other officers; and
• Perform other duties as may be assigned to him by the Rector.

Qualifications / Experience

• Candidate must be holder of at least B.Sc (Hons) Degree or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Building, Town Planning, Surveying and Urban & Regional Planning with a minimum of twenty-one (21) years post qualification cognate experience or a Master's Degree plus eighteen (18) years post-qualification cognate experience or a relevant PhD with fifteen (15) years cognate work experience.
• Have Membership of and registration with the relevant professional bodies and association;
• Have a good knowledge of computer applications;
• Must not be more than fifty-nine (59) years of age as at date the post will become vacant; and
• Be physically and mentally fit (with evidence from a Government hospital).

Terms of Appointment and Conditions of Service

• The Salary is CONTEDISS 15
• Other terms and conditions of appointment are as provided by the conditions of service of the Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria and as may be determined from time to time by the Federal Government of Nigeria or the Governing Council of the Polytechnic.
