Our raw materials are carefully sourced to ensure quality feed ingredients at all times. Our blends are carefully formulated according to the specific requirements needed per bag. We also ensure quality standards are fulfilled before pushing any manufactured feed out of our facility. We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Quality and Nutrition Manager

Location: Awe, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Purpose

  • Ensure that the quality of the Company products meet quality standards and are safe for livestock.

Responsibilities
Formulation and Optimization:

  • Formulation of feed and upload on ERP for all branches.
  • Develop and optimize animal feed formulations to meet nutritional requirements and industry standards.
  • Demonstrates the ability to formulate nutritionally balanced and cost-effective animal feed recipes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality and consistency of raw materials.
  • Upholds ethical standards in all aspects of feed formulation, production, and quality control, ensuring the welfare of animals and compliance with ethical guidelines.
  • Provision of technical production support (remedial formulation of expired and faulty feed).
  • Implementation of successful experimental outcomes in formulated feeds.
  • Resolution of quality complaints and objections.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and oversee quality control measures throughout the production process.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing quality control processes, ensuring that feed products meet regulatory standards and internal quality benchmarks.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance protocols, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)
  • Supervise and ensure proper storage of raw material
  • Ensure cleanliness and regular fumigation of warehouses are done
  • Carry out field laboratory testing
  • Ensure the implementation of current formulations for all the company’s products
  • Check and control the use of labels and bags
  • Ensure that samples of feed, raw materials and micronutrients are packaged for laboratory analysis
  • Monitor the production processes for feed, soya products, 2.5% products, and sorghum cleaning (as the case may be) to ensure compliance with quality specifications
  • Ensure the cleanliness of equipment and production plant are done as when due

Nutritional Analysis:

  • Perform nutritional analysis on feed ingredients and finished products.
  • Stay informed about advancements in animal nutrition science and incorporate relevant findings into feed formulations.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of animal nutrition science, including the nutritional requirements of various feeds.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay current on local and national regulations related to poultry feed production.
  • Ensure that all feed products adhere to regulatory requirements and are properly labelled.
  • Ensures strict adherence to compliance requirements.
  • Adapts to changes in regulations, industry trends, and business priorities, demonstrating flexibility in response to evolving circumstances.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with production teams to implement and communicate quality and nutrition-related procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve any quality or nutritional issues.
  • Exhibits leadership qualities to guide and motivate the team, fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Research and Development:

  • Participate in research and development initiatives to improve feed formulations, production processes, and overall product quality, and address emerging industry challenges.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to staying informed about advancements in animal nutrition science, feed technology, and industry best practices.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of all feed formulations, production processes, and quality control measures.
  • Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders as needed

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Feed Science, or a related field.
  • A master's degree in the same discipline will be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in animal feed formulation and quality control within a feed mill setting.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards related to animal feed production.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.
