Job Description

  • As an Experienced Chef, you will be a key member of our culinary team, responsible for creating and delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
  • Your expertise, creativity, and knowledge of the hotel and hospitality industry will contribute to the success of our food and beverage operations and ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities
Menu Planning and Development:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other team members to create innovative and enticing menus that cater to the preferences and dietary requirements of our guests.
  • Research current food trends and incorporate them into menu planning, ensuring a balance between creativity and practicality.
  • Source high-quality ingredients and work with suppliers to ensure timely and consistent delivery.

Food Preparation and Cooking:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring they are of the highest quality and presentation standards.
  • Follow standardized recipes and techniques, while also showcasing your creativity and culinary skills.
  • Monitor food production levels, minimizing waste and ensuring timely preparation to meet guest demand.

Kitchen Operations:

  • Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, guiding them in proper cooking techniques and maintaining consistency in food quality.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team, including sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen assistants, to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct regular quality checks on food products, ensuring they meet established standards for taste, appearance, and temperature.
  • Respond promptly to guest feedback and concerns, addressing any issues and taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Maintain a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet the highest quality standards.

Menu Costing and Inventory Management:

  • Assist in menu costing and pricing to ensure profitability while maintaining competitive pricing in the market.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure adequate supplies and minimize wastage.
  • Implement effective portion control measures to maximize profitability and minimize food costs.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Culinary Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a chef in a reputable hotel or high-volume restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of various cuisines, culinary techniques, and food presentation.
  • Passion for creating exceptional dining experiences and staying updated with the latest food trends.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team of kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • In-depth understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the demands of the hotel industry.
