Job Description
a) Financial
This role has a direct impact on Guinness Nigeria's F13 targets which includes - Net Sales Volume, Trading profit and Diageo Africa's F13 growth plans.
b) Market Complexity
Nigeria has 2 Diageo companies, Guinness Nigeria, a plc listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, which manufactures and sells beer and RTDs and Diageo Brands Nigeria (DBN), a newly formed spirits IMC which imports and sells Diageo’s spirits brands.
The market is challenging as there is significant competition in beer and spirits, Nigeria is a heavily regulated environment.
c) Leadership Responsibilities
- Responsible for direct reports and a semi large team with strong functional influence spanning 3 breweries
- Manage wide range of stakeholders including Supply Director, Commercial Director, Senior Group finance etc.
- Play key role in Supply leadership team, Commercial leadership team and Africa Supply finance leadership team.
- Take the lead in embedding excellent CC&E standards in Supply
- Lead the development of an expert Supply Finance function in Nigeria
Purpose of Role
- Developing and leading an expert Supply Finance function in Nigeria, covering performance management, decision support and process / control excellence across COGS, inventory and Capex.
- Partnering with the Supply Director and Leadership team to deliver excellent, well planned outcomes.
Top Accountabilities
- Developing a strong Supply Finance organisation in Nigeria to enable sustainable delivery of excellent financial results with no surprises
- Driving performance management in Supply across COGS, Inventory and Capex, ensuring transparency, accuracy and delivery of targets
- Building decision support capability in Supply Finance to ensure all key decisions are properly supported locally by quality financial analysis to drive value maximisation
- Ensuring that Supply processes are efficient and well controlled and make best use of SAP functionality
- Partnering with the Supply Director to ensure that CC&E is well embedded across the Supply organisationb>
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Accountant with minimum 10+ years post NYSC experience
- Significant hands on Supply Finance experience, ideally in a SAP environment
- Broader demand finance experience is an advantage
- Experience of working in developing markets with both in market and cross-functional teams and ideally Supply
- High level of communication and influencing skills.
- Extensive project management skills, both as a leader and key team member.
- Strong background in continuous improvement and exposure to implementing best practice in operations and financial management.
- People management experience / proven ability to identify and develop talent
