Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Gwarimpa, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost on construction projects, from initial estimates through to the final acquisition of materials and services.
  • The Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in ensuring that projects are delivered within budgetary constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on project specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather relevant information for cost analysis.
  • Monitor and control project costs throughout the entire project life cycle.
  • Provide regular cost reports to project managers and stakeholders to ensure financial transparency.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents and contracts.
  • Review and evaluate contractor bids and proposals.
  • Administer contracts, including assessing variations and managing claims.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings through value engineering without compromising project quality.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential cost overruns.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and manage potential risks related to project costs.
  • Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and bill of quantities (BOQ) to support cost estimates.
  • Implement and maintain effective cost control systems.
  • Analyze and report on deviations from the budget, proposing corrective actions as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their budgetary constraints and objectives.
  • Provide regular updates on project costs and financial status.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certification is often preferred.
  • 3+ years relevant work experience.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as cost estimating software and project management tools.
  • Previous experience in quantity surveying or a related field is typically required.
  • Familiarity with construction industry regulations and standards.
  • Experience in managing budgets and costs for construction projects.

Salary
N120,000 - N200,000 Monthly.
