Hobark International Limited (HIL) is the parent company of the Hobark group operating in the oil and gas industry. The company was incorporated in 1998, starting as a staffing agency based in Port Harcourt. Currently we have offices in 4 countries with our head office in Lagos.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Drilling Superintendent (Semi Submersible)

Location: Nigeria
Job Type: Contract

Description
Description of the Work:

  • Manage the safe and efficient delivery of development, exploration and appraisal wells in water-depths up to 1000ft, offshore Nigeria.

Operations involve the following special challenges:

  • High pressure / narrow margin drilling techniques,
  • High angle / extended reach drilling,
  • Subsea completions and well testing,
  • Third party staff, service and equipment quality,
  • Complex supply chain and logistics.

Requirements
Education:

  • Technical / Engineering qualification preferred.
  • BOSIET offshore firefighting and survival or equivalent, including HUET.
  • IWCF subsea well control at supervisory level or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years relevant experience, of which at least 5 in a similar position for a Semi.
  • Knowledge of onshore and jack-up operations would be beneficial.
  • Previous Nigerian / West African experience is advantageous.

Primary Skills:

  • Minimum of 15 years relevant experience, of which at least 5 in a similar position for a Semi.

Other Requirements:

  • Exemplary HSE leadership.
  • Strong drive for continuous performance improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of leading effectively in a multi-cultural society.
  • Sound knowledge of drilling engineering and international industry standards, ideally acquired while working for a large international operator.
  • Good organisational and project management skills, ensuring the efficient application of the company’s well delivery and commercial processes.
  • Contracts and contractor management.

Contract Duration:

  • 12 months, renewable based on performance.

Project Duration:

  • 1 year. Upon completion, reassignment to other projects is a possibility.

Remuneration

  • Competitive day rate, paid overseas by first week of the following month, net of Nigerian Income Tax.
  • Travel days paid.
