Hobark International Limited (HIL) is the parent company of the Hobark group operating in the oil and gas industry. The company was incorporated in 1998, starting as a staffing agency based in Port Harcourt. Currently we have offices in 4 countries with our head office in Lagos.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Planning Engineer

Location: Lagos, with visits to contractor’s facilities and offshore as required
Job Type: Contract

Job Objective/ Purpose of Job

• Provide Planning support to the Lead Planning Engineer on an Integrated Facilities Upgrade Project for offshore Nigeria.
• The Project includes a 200 MMscf/d Gas Compression and Export Facility, a replacement FPSO plus associated CALM buoy and PLEMS, Water Injection Facilities, two new wellhead platforms and modifications to a number of existing production and wellhead platforms, together with all associated pipelines.
• Project budget is circa $600 million and overall schedule approx 2 years.

Reporting Relationships:

• Functionally Reports To: Lead Planning Engineer
• Administratively Reports To: Lead Planning Engineer
• Supervises: n/a

Working Relationships:

• Internal :Lead Planning Engineer, 4-off Project Management teams, other Project Services Team members, Production and Maintenance Departments, Departmental and Corporate Planners.
• External: Project Contractors and Vendors

Job Duties/ Responsibilities/ Accountabilities

• Provide Project Planning / Scheduling support services for the Project.
• Establish and maintain Project control plans and schedules, including Project Contract Plan, Gant Charts and progress S-Curves
• Analyse and propose improvements to schedules, including use of critical path analysis and resource loading.
• Monitor and report progress against the Project control schedules.
• Generate plan and schedule summaries and similar presentational material as required by the Project
• Review and audit contractors’ planning procedures
• Deputise and provide leave cover for the Lead Planning Engineer.

Key Performance Indicators/ Performance Goals:

• Maintain up to date baseline Project control documents, including Contract Plan, Gant Charts and progress S-Curves, with progress figures updated on a weekly basis.

Job Specifications

• Education Qualification: Degree in an Engineering Discipline
• Professional Qualification: n/a
• Experience Minimum of 8 years in the Upstream Oil and Gas industry, with at least 5 years in a similar position
• Age 30 +

Key Competencies Requirements:
Functional/ Technical:

• Broad, multi-discipline knowledge and experience of offshore Oil and Gas projects, with a fair understanding of associated field activities, including Drilling, Production, Maintenance and Marine Operations.
• Good presentational, verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in MS Project (as well as MSWord/Excel/Powerpoint)
• Experience in Primavera P3 or P3e preferred
• Managerial: n/a
• Behavioural: Good attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
• Well organised, interactive, forward thinking and methodical.
