Job Title: Logistics Manager

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Overview

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dedicated Logistics Manager specializing in coastal exports to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in managing export operations through containers and bulk shipments. The successful candidate will be based in Port Harcourt and will play a pivotal role in optimizing our export logistics processes.

Responsibilities
Export Operations Management:

  • Oversee and manage end-to-end logistics operations for coastal exports, ensuring timely and cost-effective shipment of goods via containers and bulk carriers.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to streamline the export process, from order placement to delivery at the destination.

Vendor Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with shipping companies, freight forwarders, transporters, and customs officials.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms for the organization.

Customs Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of changes in customs regulations and ensure compliance with all export-related laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with customs authorities to expedite the clearance process and resolve any issues that may arise.

Container and Bulk Shipment Expertise:

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of both container and bulk shipment processes, optimizing load plans and ensuring maximum efficiency.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate modes of transportation based on cargo type, destination, and cost considerations.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks in the logistics process and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively address issues related to delays, damages, or other disruptions to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role with a focus on coastal exports.
  • Proven expertise in managing logistics for both container and bulk shipments.
  • Excellent knowledge of customs regulations and export compliance.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with the Port Harcourt logistics landscape is a definite advantage.
