Hobark International Limited (HIL) is the parent company of the Hobark group operating in the oil and gas industry. The company was incorporated in 1998, starting as a staffing agency based in Port Harcourt. Currently we have offices in 4 countries with our head office in Lagos.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Cost Estimator

Location: Lagos
Job Type: Contract
Department/Division/ Unit: Facilities Engineering and Major Projects

Job Objectives

• Provide multi-discipline cost estimating services for onshore and offshore facilities and pipelines projects implemented by the Facilities Engineering and Major Projects department.

Reporting Relationships:

• Functionally Reports To: Cost Control Supervisor
• Administratively Reports To: Cost Control Supervisor
• Supervises: N/a

Working Relationships:

• Internal Departmental Project Engineers / Managers, cost and contracts sections.
• External Cost Estimation data / data base providers, cost estimating software providers.

Job Duties / Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Develop and maintain a multi-discipline Cost Estimating system, including a database of historical project costs, and provide cost estimating services to project engineers for new projects / project variations and to assist in forecasting of costs to completion.
• Liaise with industry providers of cost data and utilise such data to enhance and supplement Company’s own data base.

Key Performance Indicators/ Performance Goals:

• Provide cost estimates within 10% of final project cost (after adjustment for any scope variations).

Financial Dimensions:

• No direct budget responsibility, but providing cost estimates for projects ranging in value from US$100,000 – US$500 mln

Job Specifications

• Education Qualification: Degree in an Engineering subject
• Professional Qualification: Relevant professional qualifications preferred
• Experience Minimum of 10 years in the Upstream Oil and Gas industry, with at least 5 years in a similar position
• Age 30+

Key Competencies Requirements
Functional/ Technical:

• Proven skills and experience of multi-discipline cost estimating services.
• Good knowledge and experience of onshore and offshore Oil and Gas projects.
• Proficient in MSWord/Excel and proprietary cost estimating software packages
• Managerial: Ability to communicate with senior engineering personnel
• Behavioural: Highly organised and methodical

Work Cycle (Hours/ Days):

• Monday - Saturday 0730 – 1630 hrs, with additional hours as operationally required
• Rotation Contract position
