Job Title: Welding Inspector

Job Description

  • Review all engineering deliverables relevant to the welding practice that are issued by the EPC Contractor
  • Evaluate welding specifications, assess performance readiness and suitability of welding equipment, and perform quality checks on completed welds, including visual inspections and review of radiographic images
  • Review welding procedures submitted by ePC Contractor and participate in Welders Assessment Tests to ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, legislations, and regulations
  • Deploy knowledge of welding processes to ensure that the ePC Contractor executes all welding works in line with global practices to yield the optimal service life of the pipeline and associated installations
  • Provide subject matter technical support in welding processes and material selection for reviews, audits, and inspections
  • Participate in supervision of applicable works at the project sites and ePC Contractor fabrication yard
  • Liaise with the Project Management Team, other Support Personnel, ePC Contractor Personnel, Vendor Personnel, and any other personnel associated with the project to ensure actualization of the project within the specified timeline
  • All other ancillary tasks as may be directed by the Project Management Team consequential to the successful delivery of the project”

Qualifications

  • 8+ (HND / B.Sc.) / 6+ (M.Sc.)
  • CSWIP, AWS, NVQ, or equivalent certification
  • HND or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 10+ years of work experience or Advanced Degree with 6+ years of experience
  • At least five years of experience with welding activities for pipelines and/or process facilities in the oil and gas industry with leadership roles on at least two projects
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, legislations, and regulations applicable to the practice of welding
  • Experience in engineering design reviews, material selection, inspections, audits, and supervision of site activities
  • Significant experience working with EPC Contractors and engaging with diverse project stakeholders
  • A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in use of IT tools, especially Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, emails, SharePoint, and OneDrive
  • High awareness of safe working practices associated with design, construction, installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of pipelines and associated facilities.
