Fidelity Bank Plc began operations in 1988 as Fidelity Union Merchant Bank Limited. By 1990, it had distinguished itself as the fastest growing merchant bank in the country. However, to leverage the emerging opportunities in the commercial and consumer end of financial services in Nigeria, in 1999, it converted to commercial banking and changed its name to Fidelity Bank Plc. It became a universal bank in February 2001, with a license to offer the entire spectrum of commercial, consumer, corporate and investment banking services.

What are the stages of the contest?
Stage 1 - The National Writing Showdown:

  • Join the nationwide creative writing competition. Thousands of students will unleash their storytelling talents, vying for a spot among the top 150 writers advancing to the quality control level.
  • Quality Control Test to Select Authentic Top 100: This will be written at the closest branch to ensure that the students wrote the essay by themselves. 

Stage 2 - The Sweeta Writing Mastery:

  • Challenge your mind and refine your analytical skills to secure a spot among the top 30 participants. All qualified students will read a designated book (and craft an alternate ending at an exam center nearest to them.
  • All students in this stage will be notified to pick up a hard copy of the book at the branch closest to them.

Stage 3 - The Author's Workshop:

  • For the select top 30 participants, we offer an immersive three-day writing bootcamp. Experienced mentors and facilitators will guide you through workshops, refining your writing skills and preparing you for publication.

Criteria

  • You must be between the ages of 12 and 17 to participate.
  • Must be enrolled in either a public or private school in Nigeria.

Rewards and Recognition

  • The winner will receive a N2 million publishing deal, a N2 million cash prize, and a N2 million donation to renovate their school library!
  • The first and second runners-up are awarded cash prizes of N1.5 million and N1 million, respectively
