Job Title: Veterinary Doctor

Location: Mayo-Belwa, Adamawa
Employment Type: Full-time

Brief Job Description

• The Veterinary Doctor will be responsible for overseeing the health and welfare of livestock and ensuring proper veterinary care is provided. They will also be responsible for diagnosing and treating various illness, injuries and diseases in the animals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the health and welfare of livestock on the farm
• Conduct physical examinations and medical assessment of animals to diagnose illness and injuries
• Administering vaccinations and medications to prevent and treat diseases
• Provide proper veterinary care and treatment for livestock as needed
• Develop and implement a herd health program to prevent and manage disease outbreaks
• Manage the selection, breeding, and culling of livestock
• Ensure that livestock housing and feeding facilities are properly maintained
• Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations and standards
• Develop and implement animal nutrition programs
• Work with farm management to develop production plans and budgets
• Train and supervise farm staff in proper animal handling and care

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Veterinary Medicine
• Valid license to practice veterinary medicine
• 3-5 years of experience in livestock management and veterinary care
• Strong knowledge of animal welfare regulations and standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
