The Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Enugu is a Federal tertiary institution that was established in 1952 as a Centre of Excellence in Africa, The College in recent time has been re-established by Nigerian law viz Act No.8 of 2017 and granted the power to award degrees based on the urgent need to transit the programmes from HND to degree in order to enhance the career progression.

The Management and staff of the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Enugu invites applications from suitable candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Director, Works and Physical Planning

Location: Enugu

Responsibilities
The Director, Works and Physical Planning is responsible to the Rector for:

  • The day-to-day maintenance, planning, development and management of the College physical structures;
  • Coordination and supervision of physical development projects, ensuring quality standards and maintenance of structures in the College;
  • Supervision, monitoring and coordinating of all staff and activities of the Directorate;
  • Ensure compliance with the provisions of the College Physical Masterplan and its update from time-time;
  • Prepare and present to Management quarterly and annual reports on state of the Physical facilities in the College and ongoing and or planned projects;
  • Design and maintain an excellent reticulation of power, data and water supplies to all units of the College;
  • Carrying out other duties as may be assigned by the Rector.

Qualifications and Experience
Candidate for this post shall:

  • Candidates should possess a good Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or any other relevant degree from a recognized degree awarding Institution with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division, plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption;
  • Candidate should be computer literate and proficient in relevant computer applications as applicable in running a modern Works and Physical Planning Directorate;
  • The candidate must possess professionally recognized certificate with current practicing license (COREN. ARCON, QSRBN, CORBON) as well as not less than twenty (20) years post qualification Engineering experience;
  • In addition, he/she must have at least ten (10) years of relevant experience in a senior management position preferably in a degree awarding institution.
  • Should not be older than sixty (60) years of age upon appointment and should be within the sixty-five (65) years retirement age at the expiration of his/her tenure.

Salary and Conditions of Service

  • Salary and conditions of service shall be in accordance with the Public Service salary structure for this category of Officers.

Tenure

  • Successful Candidates shall hold office for a 5-year single tenure and no more.
