Job Summary
- We are looking for a Blasting Helper to join our team at Dangote Cement Plc. As a Blasting Helper, you will be responsible for assisting in filling blast holes with explosives and detonating explosives to dislodge limestone and rock.
- You will ensure the proper handling and storage of explosives and accessories, as well as follow safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in loading explosives in blast holes by hand or direct movement of bulk explosives trucks to load holes.
- Assemble primer charges using selected detonators, fuses, detonating cords, and other materials.
- Handle, store, and transport explosives and accessories in accordance with regulations
- Achieve good fragmentation through proper stemming and good connection at all times.
- Follow safety procedures and ensure that safety regulations are observed
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Blaster
Requirements
- A Secondary School Certificate
- Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in blasting or around any mining activities
- Knowledge of explosives handling and storage regulations
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
