We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Finance Officer

Location: Plateau
Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: 

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, 
  • balance sheets, and cash flow statements. 
  • Analyse financial data to provide insights into the company's financial performance. 

Budgeting and Forecasting: 

  • Collaborate with relevant departments to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts. 
  • Monitor budgetary performance and provide variance analysis reports. 

Accounts Payable and Receivable: 

  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions. 
  • Ensure timely processing of vendor invoices and prompt collections from customers. 

Cost Control: 

  • Monitor and control costs within the finance domain. 
  • Implement cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements. 

Tax Compliance: 

  • Ensure compliance with local and national tax regulations. 
  • Prepare and submit accurate tax returns within specified deadlines. 

Financial Audits: 

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial audits. 
  • Implement audit recommendations and maintain audit trails. 

Financial Systems Management: 

  • Utilize financial software and tools for accurate record-keeping and reporting. 
  • Recommend and implement improvements to these financial systems. 

Cash Management: 

  • Manage cash flow and liquidity to meet operational needs. 
  • Optimize investment opportunities to maximize returns. 
  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): 
  • Assist in financial planning and analysis activities. 
  • Provide support in strategic financial decision-making. 

Compliance and Risk Management: 

  • Stay abreast of industry regulations and compliance requirements. 
  • Implement risk management strategies to safeguard financial assets. 

Academic Qualifications & Experience 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is a plus. 
  • Proven experience in finance roles, preferably in the dairy or food industry. 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws. 
  • Proficient in financial software and MS Office Suite. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. 
  • Detail-oriented and capable of working independently or in a team. 
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
