Job Title: Head Teacher

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description
Educational Leadership:

  • Develop and articulate a clear vision for the school in collaboration with staff, and stakeholders.
  • Lead the implementation of innovative educational programs and strategies to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff in curriculum development, instructional techniques, and assessment practices.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development among staff members.

Strategic Management:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans and policies to promote the school's mission and objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs, resources, and services.
  • Manage budgets effectively, allocating resources to support teaching and learning initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with staff, parents, students, and the broader community.

Student Welfare and Development:

  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of all students.
  • Implement effective behavior management strategies to maintain discipline and foster positive student behavior.
  • Monitor student progress and intervene as necessary to address individual learning needs and challenges.
  • Collaborate with parents and external agencies to support student well-being and academic success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
  • A proven experience as a classroom teacher.
  • Previous leadership experience in a primary school or similar educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of educational principles, curriculum development, and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate staff, students, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
  • Knowledge of relevant educational policies, regulations, and procedures.
