Job Title: ICT Laborabory Technologist

Location: Lagos

Role Overview

• NUTM seeks a dedicated and dynamic ICT Lab Technologist to join our vibrant academic community. As an ICT Laboratory Technologist, you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) lab.
• You will be responsible for providing technical assistance, maintaining lab equipment, and assisting lab users in utilizing technology resources effectively.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Support:

• Assist lab users with technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems promptly to ensure uninterrupted lab operations.
• Conduct regular maintenance and updates of lab computers and equipment.

Vab Operations:

• Ensure the availability of necessary software and resources for lab users.
• Monitor and manage computer and printer supplies, replenishing as needed.
• Maintain a secure and organized lab environment.

User Assistance:

• Provide guidance and support to lab users, including students, faculty, and staff, in accessing and utilizing lab resources.
• Assist users in software installations, configurations, and updates.
• Offer training and tutorials on the use of lab equipment and software.

Equipment Inventory:

•  Maintain an up-to-date inventory of lab equipment, including computers, peripherals, and accessories.
• Report any equipment issues or need for replacements to the ICT Lab Manager.

Lab Security and Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to security protocols for lab access and use.
• Monitor user activities to prevent unauthorized or inappropriate use of lab resources.
• Comply with data protection and privacy regulations.

Preferred Candidate

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience (at least 1-3 years) in providing technical support in a computer lab or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and network configuration.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate events and programs successfully.
• Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
• Familiarity with educational technology and learning management systems is a plus.
